Convert videos into EXE files that don't need a player
The problem nowadays is that there are so many codecs needed to play videos and films that sharing them is not as easy as it should be.
MakeInstantPlayer gets around this problem by avoiding the need to even have the right player installed because it creates an EXE file that can be opened by anyone and played anywhere. There's no need to install any codecs or any player with MakeInstantPlayer.
MakeInstantPlayer uses the MPlayer compressor so that conversions are quite quick but the quality remains very good. However, the MakeInstantPlayer EXE files aren't exactly small so you'll need to either ZIP them up or transfer them by some other method than e-mail to friends. There is a certain amount of customisation you can perform too in MakeInstantPlayer - you can also add a URL with an image to appear before it plays and also select whether you want it to open in full screen mode or shrink mode when it's opened.
MakeInstantPlayer is a great way to send files to friends that either don't have the right player installed or not the right codecs.

Am I wrong? ;-).
Hi Tom.I know you do the best to scan files so that users never shall worry of downloading your file. And I know you do a got job because I used you site with great pleasure for sometime now :-)But,
are scanning for other thins than virus and common spyware? What about trojans, adware, malicious software etc.?With MakeInstantPlayer I for examplescanned the file on http://www.virustotal.com (http://www.virustotal.com/dk/analisis/ab343c99f724733e365f42d61436e064) and http://virusscan.jotti.org and found several suspicious files. Respectively six and three!!Am I wrong using these sites once in a while? And what programmes do you use to scan for suspicious files and not just viruses?? More

Softonic scans every file.
Hi Funnydude - we do scan every single file we upload. We also test them on our own machines, all of which are protected by powerful anti-virus software (they have to be: we download more than anyone else!).As other users have noted, false-positive results do sometimes occur... but you really can trust us to scan every file :-)Tom Clarke - Content Director More

False Positive.
I've used this program in the past and found it somewhat useful with sharing videos with my non-computer savvy parents. I don't use it often now since I learned how to transcode video but I still comes in handy. If you go to MuldeR's homepage, you will see he gives everyone a heads up about receiving false positives by some antivirus programs and encourages users to check it out at virustotal.com[Edited by moderator]
Pros:
Great for sharing videos with friends that are not so computer savvy. Very fast... ridiculously fast.
Cons:
Creates a large file since you're including a player. More
